Join us for a fun, creative two days sharing and exploring the magic of dyeing cloth in an indigo vat. The beauty and poetry of indigo blue evokes a wealth of imagery, and gives each participant the potential to develop a personal language.
Gather inspiration from the historic, ethnic, and contemporary indigo dyed textiles that Elin will bring from her own collection. Explore the extraordinary patterns that have been handed down for centuries within many diverse cultures.
Everything you need in order to dye a cotton shawl is included. Bring a t-shirt or another articles of clothing, socks, napkins, or any other item that is cotton, linen, silk, or rayon to dip into the vat. Silk, cotton, and linen scarves will be available for purchase for dyeing in the indigo vat. Bring yourself, lunch, and wear clothes you don’t mind getting indigo dye on.
