Join me for a bright and fun filled day of paper crafting combining an historic Hispanic craft of ramillettes ,mixed with the German tradition of pleated crepe paper.

From ramillettes sewn onto  3′ – 5′  long ribbons, to cards where an individual ramillette can be sewn onto card stock, there are many options for creating with this joyful craft.

We will start the class with the basics of cutting the shapes you will use to build up the layers of the flat ramillette. Once you’ve done that you can venture into the construction of pleating the crepe paper. Each part is integral to the whole. There are a number of steps to the ornaments as they are all two sided.

A wide selection of amazing papers will be available, as well as card stock, and dresden medallions for the centers of the ornaments. High quality italian crepe paper in a wide selection of colors for those that want to make ornaments.

You’ll learn some of my tricks for folding and cutting the paper to create many shapes and various edges on the paper.

Make some special gifts for the holidays for your fiends and family.

Two sided ornaments in various sizes. Can be for Christmas or made for general decorating not specific to the holidays.

These are examples of awards I was asked to make for the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market – to be given to their major donors. I made these for many of the early years of the market.

Examples of ramillettes sewn onto ribbons – following the hispanic tradition of using paper to make colorful decorations when flowers were in short supply.
