As of this morning there are 8 spots left in the afternoon class.

Laura Knaub has a great selection of ceramics and is back after participating in the Summer Market – so delighted to have her work here again.

Evon Ellington is excited to share both her soy candles poured into jars and  seasonal beeswax candles. I’m thrilled to be able to support a young, hardworking woman who I meet through her ‘other job’.

Kaili Plummer-Slate has combined forces with her husband Victor and is offering some wood and nettle fiber jewelery. Kaili will be helping both weekends of the market so you can always talk to her about the classes she be teaching in pine needle and nettle cordage making in 2022.

The oak wood is from Victor’s home state of Florida and the twined nettle cord Kaili made ( she’s also our nettle cordage teacher as well as pine needle baskets and cedar bark baskets ).

Victor Eisenman will have gorgeous wood pens as well as the jewelery he and Kaili collaborate on.

Megan Kroh of Love Light Farm will have her ceramic vessels and mugs again. She first sold at our Summer Market 2021 and had such a good reception she’s happily returning.

She’ll also have some wreaths for sale for a seasonal burst.

Sarah Slovensky of Hoffletco is both an embroidery artist & painter. She’ll have her delightful kits for sale, art prints of her flowers and even a few ornaments.

Will Slovensky – ‘the man behind the woman’ (as he humbly says)  in Hoffletco is bringing his pottery for the first time. They seem to work non-stop.

Sam and Caitlin Stanton of Whidbey Herbal grow organic herbs and native plants in Greenbank, distilling and making essential oils & room sprays from native plants, as well as lavender. I love their cedar oil which I found at Flying Bear Flowers before covid hit!

Elsa Layman will have necklaces as well as honey from
Yellowstone Wild.

Elsa ( 4th generation Whidbeyite )  is raising bees now, but until the production is up, she’s offering family friend, Emil McCain’s honey from Yellowstone. Emil is an amazing biologist and wildlife guide and founder of Yellowstone Wild

Patti King @pkingweaver will be helping all 5 of the public days as well as offering her incredible pillows in the Summer House.

If you’re interested in fabric, techniques, textile work from Korea or Japan you really should come talk to Patti – she taught the very popular Bojagi class (aka Korean patchwork ) in the summer.

I’m happy to say after 25 or so years of offering jams, I finally got my dear friend and designer Dorit Zingerelli to create labels using my Cultus Bay Gardens logo. Wow what an upgrade! – I know I’m slow to take care of the obvious at times.

Anyway, your jam gifts will read ‘local business’ for sure as most are made from fruits we grow here. I continue to expand and experiment adding herbs, spices  or orange zest to various fruits. It’s kitchen chemistry 102.

Maemae Sew ( aka me ) will have some clothing, darling lunch bags, ramillete medallion ornaments & the famous fruit cakes. I have a new twist on the fruitcake – adding organic candied orange peel I made as well as soaking in quince infused vodka which sat for 11 months! Both are really good additions.

After taking Elin Noble’s indigo class at the end of summer this year I got inspired to do more indigo dying.

NOTE – Elin will be teaching a two day indigo workshop July 9 & 10, 2022 so mark your calendars as it will be popular.

I will not be selling my scarf ( as seen in this photo) but will have napkins, socks and bandanas. You’d see those, but having WordPress issues and just need to get this newsletter out pronto!!

You can see some of those photos if you follow me on IG @maemaesew once I get them posted.

Mikal Robinson of Feral Felt  will have her felted work as well as jewelry from Feral Refined  for sale and will be helping with the market sales the first weekend.  Look for her vibrant energy! She returns for the winter sale after a good reception at our Summer Market.

I’m so excited for this market, after no market in 2020, and a virtual market last winter. It will be so great to see old friends, meet new folks and be able to offer this wonderful community event which I hope helps kickstart many young artists – as well as having work from well established creative artists like Patti King and Luanne Seymour

Please be respectful to all coming and wear your mask! even though we will be outside in well ventillated buildings. There are too many risks, as well as unvaccinated children, in our midst for me to hold this market without everyone following  protocol. If that infringes on your freedom then just stay home.

The twinkle lights will be on in the Potting Shed, Greenhouse, Summer House and old Nursery Hoop where the art work will be spread out.

A self – serve hot cider tent will be in front of the potting shed you see in the above photo.

I hope you’ll find time to come support some of the 19 artists that will have their work here. It’s an honor to gather and promote so many talented people, and host an event that has expanded over the last 25+ years to bring in more fresh ideas and talent.

Cheerfully awaiting your arrival!
